Join Canterbury-Bankstown Council as a Graduate Town Planner to support development assessment and community engagement in a diverse Sydney community.
Your Role Key responsibilities include: Providing planning and development information through Council's Duty Planner service.
Preparing assessment reports and determinations on development applications and subdivision certificates.
Undertaking site inspections and preparing supporting documentation.
Coordinating internal and external stakeholder feedback on development matters.
Responding to enquiries at the customer service counter, via email, and by phone.
Meeting statutory and Council timeframes and contributing to the delivery of efficient development services.
About You The company is looking for: Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning (or nearing completion).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Understanding of relevant Acts, statutory planning processes, and customer service delivery.
Ability to work collaboratively and professionally in a fast-paced environment.
Class C Driver's Licence.
Desirable: Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and prior experience in local government or development assessment.
Compensation & Benefits Starting salary of $71,819 (Grade D, Step 1) plus 12% superannuation.
