About the Opportunity
The Library is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Officer to join our Experience & Engagement Division.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects across marketing and communications, publishing, and special programs that enhance public engagement with the Library's offerings.
As Project Officer, you will play a key role in supporting project delivery, providing executive assistance, and facilitating stakeholder engagement.
You'll work closely with program and projects leads across the Division and provide high-level support to the Director of Experience & Engagement, helping to ensure the smooth implementation of divisional initiatives.
Some key responsibilities:
Assist in delivering project plans and tasks to achieve agreed outcomes.
Provide timely, accurate, and confidential executive support to the Director and to the Mitchell Librarian.
Support divisional operations, particularly in marketing, communications, publishing, and engagement initiatives.
Communicate project updates and resolve implementation issues with stakeholders.
Respond to complex enquiries with consistent and accurate advice.
Facilitate partnerships and collaborations through administrative support and relationship-building.
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and brings:
Sound knowledge of software systems such as Microsoft office suite, and business systems in particular, customer relationship and shared services platforms.
Demonstrated experience in managing multiple stakeholders
Sound knowledge of the role of cultural institutions and understanding of their significance to the public.
Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
Proven experience in project support, preferably within marketing, communications, or publishing.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and stakeholder engagement.
High level of discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
