Full time (1 FTE), ongoing role Carlton location with flexible, hybrid working arrangement $150,000 (pro-rata for part time) + salary packaging + super + 5 weeks annual leave The Royal Women's Hospital is one of Australia's oldest and most distinguished tertiary hospitals dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of women and newborns, offering specialised services within maternity, neonatal and women's health.
Our goal is to be the best place to work, learn and contribute, and to provide exceptional experiences for our patients and consumers.
About the team The Business Intelligence and Analytics (BI&A) Unit plays a central role in managing the hospital's key performance indicator (KPI) reporting, ensuring alignment with performance targets.
The team supports both routine and ad hoc activity reporting, coordinates benchmarking efforts, oversees data assurance for activity submissions, and develops clinical costing reports for The Women's.
BI&A also oversees the REDCap application, a new service at The Women's that facilitates secure collection and storage of clinical and operational data.
This service is delivered in partnership with the Royal Melbourne Health (RMH) REDCap team and requires an honorary appointment at RMH.
About the role As the Manager of Business Intelligence & Analytics, you will lead the delivery of analytical, business, and information expertise to drive performance management initiatives and support strategic objectives.
This role demands a deep understanding of healthcare systems and business operations, hospital funding frameworks, performance management practices, benchmarking methodologies, and information technology.
A regular day will see you: Collaborate with teams across the hospital to support performance reporting, data-driven decision-making, and strategic initiatives.
Lead the development and maintenance of dashboards and reports, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with governance standards.
Provide training and support to stakeholders on data literacy, funding models, and reporting tools like Power BI.
Drive continuous improvement by overseeing digital health projects, modernising reporting systems, and fostering innovation within the BI&A team.
About you You're a strategic thinker with a passion for turning data into actionable insights.
With tertiary qualifications and/or significant industry experience, you bring a deep understanding of healthcare systems, hospital funding, and business performance management.
You'll have: At least 3 years' experience in dashboard development, with a talent for engaging stakeholders to co-design meaningful visualisations.
Strong leadership skills and a track record of driving innovation, system improvements, and organisational change.
Proven success in health services management within complex environments, ideally in operational planning and performance.
You're a collaborative leader who thrives in cross-functional teams, with excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
You're confident delivering training in data literacy and Power BI, and experienced in managing external vendors to ensure project success.
At the Women's you will enjoy a culture that is collaborative, supportive and passionate about learning.
We have a strong sense of purpose and engage in meaningful work every day.
We offer our people a range of rewarding benefits, including: Up to $11,660 in salary packaging benefits, for living expenses, meals and holiday accommodation A suite of wellness initiatives designed to support you, including discounted financial, lifestyle and health options, and a comprehensive wellbeing program Public transport options at our doorstep and end of trip facilities for cyclists Mentoring, learning and career development opportunities Five weeks annual leave, monthly ADO's (for full time) and purchased leave options Flexible, hybrid working arrangements Inclusion and belonging The Women's celebrates, values and supports a diverse and inclusive environment which reflects our vibrant community.
We encourage applications from anyone identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
We also welcome anyone who identifies as LGBTQIA+, linguistically, culturally and/or gender diverse, people with disability, and people of any age to apply for our roles.
We are committed to gender equity principles, and our people have an awareness of and sensitive approach to violence against women and family violence matters.
We are proudly Breastfeeding Association accredited.
If you feel this role is right for you we warmly invite you to apply and encourage your early application.
All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) and a valid Working with Children Check.
Clinical staff are required to be vaccinated against, or demonstrate immunity to, COVID-19, influenza, and a range of other diseases.
Should you need assistance or require any adjustments or accommodations to fully participate in the application or interview process, or if you require an accessible copy of the position description, you are most welcome to reach out to the contact person listed.
