Employment Type: Temporary Full Time, 38 hours per week, until October 2025 Location: SWSLHD District Wide Service Position Classification: Group Engineer Grade 6 Remuneration: $2,575.58 per week Requisition ID: REQ598555 Application Close Date: 07/09/2025 Interview Date Range: 10/09/2025 - 17/09/2025 Contact Details: Kon Helidoniotis | kon.helidoniotis@health.nsw.gov.au What You'll Be Doing The Group Building Engineer controls the day-to-day running of the building services section at each facility across the district, with the prime function to ensure the up-to-date maintenance and integrity of the fabric of all buildings covered within the responsibility of the Engineering Department.
The role includes the efficient implementation of reactive/corrective, preventative, and statutory maintenance programmes; supervision of refurbishment works; oversight of works which may change or impact the fabric of the physical infrastructure; manage and supervise all building-related trades; prompt actioning of all work orders; ensuring full and current compliance, and work health and safety, of all facilities & building-related processes.
The level of responsibility and accountability is proportional to the size, distribution and complexity of the portfolio allocated.

Tertiary qualifications in Building / Construction or extensive building and construction industry experience with related trade qualifications/licence(s) and Safe Work White Card (or general construction induction card) is required.
Demonstrated project management capability for building works and contract management, including scope of work development, cost estimation & control, procurement (within NSW Govt policies) and supervision of internal/external refurbishments & projects, and planning of labour and materials.
Experience in management and operation of planned or corrective maintenance programming in large complex healthcare, institutional or critical industrial environments.
Experience in maintenance and operation of hydraulic systems and regulatory compliance, safe work practices, standards and codes of practice.
Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2).
If holding a C class license from another state, obtain NSW C class (P1 or P2) within three months of appointment.
Learner's licenses are not permitted.
