Job Description
At IPS, you'll apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities.
We are looking for a Senior Piping Engineer to join our EMEA team out of our office in Manchester, UK.
The Senior Piping Engineer works on various projects as assigned by a Project Manager or Lead Designer.
This individual plays a role in the entire design process, including but not limited to preliminary assessments, concept creation, design, and problem resolution.
We rely on you to:

Develop design concepts; prepare documents during the design development phase.
Correct and update design documents.
Develop solutions to design problems.
Use computer-aided design technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents.
Review drawings and documents to ensure compliance with company standards.
Attend pre-bid meetings and assist the project team in evaluating proposals.
Collaborate with equipment suppliers/vendors to obtain necessary information for design completion.
Interact with clients to confirm scope and design intent.
Archive and retrieve data from electronic databases to support work.
Research equipment options from catalogues under the direction of the Project Designer/Engineer.
Ensure quality standards and coordinate work to reflect design intent and necessary coordination.
Coordinate design work with related engineering disciplines.
Attend project and construction meetings to facilitate coordination.
Research non-routine code issues and obtain interpretations from code officials.
Support field installation and start-up activities.
Contribute to performance reviews for assigned staff.
Participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 10 years of previous design experience.
A technical or associate degree in drafting and/or design from an accredited institution is preferred.
Proficiency in computer-aided design and understanding of CAD operations.
General knowledge of mechanical and electrical system design.
Understanding of applicable codes.
Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects.
Excellent oral and written communication skills for customer service.
Process industrial experience, especially in the Life Sciences industries, is preferred.
