About the role: We're seeking an action oriented and compassionate leader to guide our People Services function and to champion wellbeing.
This unique role blends core HR operations with rehabilitation management—ideal for a seasoned professional who's passionate about making a measurable impact across the employee lifecycle.
This is atransitional role, where a large focus will initially be on leading operational HR services.
Over time, the role will evolve to include a greater emphasis on rehabilitation case management—currently expected to comprise around 10 - 30% of the role.
As this is a niche capability requiring deep expertise, the successful applicant will ideally already bring strong foundations in case management and ready to grow this specialty within the team.
As the Manager, People Services & Wellbeing, you will: Lead a dedicated team delivering high-quality HR operations—from onboarding to policy implementation.
Partner with managers and key stakeholders to advise on all people-related matters, including employee relations, performance, development and legislative compliance.
Steer injury and illness management initiatives in line with the Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988.
Create and oversee sustainable return-to-work programs, while actively coaching leaders and collaborating with health professionals.
Foster a culture of engagement, inclusion, and safety through meaningful partnerships across the university.
What You Bring: Proven experience in HR operations and rehabilitation case management.
Strong understanding of workplace safety legislation and return-to-work protocols.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with a solution-oriented mindset.
Team management and leadership experience Strong organisational and time management skills HR tertiary qualifications or comparable experience If you are a confident leader with great relationship building skills, passionate about problem solving and supporting people with the above required experience, we'd love to hear from you.
