The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for an Events and Projects Officer to be
part of our Major Programs and Regions Division within the
Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The role is part of the PIRSA Drought Support Team and will be
positioned in the Emergency Management, Drought and Resilience
Branch of the Major Programs and Regions Division or PIRSA.
The primary purpose of the role is to support the PIRSA Drought
Support Team to address the challenges of drought for primary
producers through service provision to the SA Drought Hub.
The SA Drought Hub is led by the Adelaide University and works
in close collaboration with PIRSA and a range of industry groups
and partners, to work towards a common vision to strengthen the
drought resilience and preparedness of our farms and regional
communities in South Australia.
The role will support the development and delivery of events and
projects for drought resilience planning and decision-making
packages with farmers and advisors across SA.
The role is pivotal
in engaging effectively with a range of government, industry and
farming stakeholders to support drought preparedness, build
capability and increase resilience through sharing of information
and understanding of effective farm management mechanisms.
The role requires proven event and project management skills,
leadership and teamwork capabilities, and understanding and
communicating key functions of the SA Drought Hub.
The Events and
Projects Officer will be responsible for organising, planning, and
reporting on events and projects led on behalf of the SA Drought
Hub.
A high degree of empathy, diplomacy and tact to achieve
outcomes will be essential.
The role contributes to the SA Drought Hub's Activity Work
Plan, as well as to PIRSA's priorities in managing risk, by
preparing for drought events that impact economic growth and
community wellbeing.

Special Conditions

Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily
complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an
offer of employment.
Australian residency or current works permit is required
(responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current
work permit).
Opportunity up to 30 June 2026.
Part time, 22.5 hours per week.

Requirements

Possession of a current driver's license and
willingness to drive.
Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be
required.
You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations
and our expectations when

The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency
management training and must be willing to participate in
emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities
required by government agencies.

ASO6 - $98,478 min - $104,165 max per annum, plus
superannuation
