The Team : The Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS) team provides specialist mental health services to infants, children, and young people up to 18 years of age across Tasmania.
Their work focuses on early intervention, assessment, and treatment of a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, psychosis, and trauma-related issues.
The team also supports perinatal and infant mental health, particularly in southern Tasmania.
CYMHS adopts a family-centred approach, working closely with parents, caregivers, schools, and other services to develop tailored care plans.
The multidisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, and other allied health professionals who collaborate to provide holistic and compassionate care The Role : The Group Director – Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS) applies high level specialist expertise in the provision of effective leadership and management to achieve the defined objectives of CYMHS.
The primary objectives are : Provide strategic leadership and direction on a state - wide basis in the development and management of CYMHS.
Develop, implement and evaluate a strategic and business framework and policies, systems and processes to support the delivery of quality services.
Manage and be accountable for the overall human, physical and financial assets and information resources to ensure the effective and efficient use of government resources.
You will need : Proven executive leadership experience in mental health service delivery, with a strong understanding of child and youth mental health systems and reform.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive strategic initiatives that improve access, quality, and outcomes for young people and their families.
High-level stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the capacity to influence policy, foster partnerships, and represent the service at a state and national level.

Salary : $170,409 to $188,400 per annum.
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
Salary Packaging : You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Tertiary qualifications and / or extensive experience in the management and delivery of health services preferably Mental Health Services.
Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration Registration / licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment.
It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration / licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.
