Chapter Lead

You will lead by example and coach others to develop and automate the testing of robust, adaptable code that is always production-ready.
Reporting to the IT Area Lead, you will play a key role in the continual advancement of our engineering mastery and practices such as Agile and Continuous Delivery.
Joining our supportive and dynamic team, you'll be responsible for the delivery of Mortgages products and services which are at the core of our business and forefront of digital banking in Australia.

What are you going to do? You will be… Responsible for working with highly collaborative teams and technology vendors to support integration of technologies on the roadmap implementing robust and scalable systems, emphasizing designing and delivering as per the established standards and guidelines.
Tracking and documenting the lifecycle of the platform, database, and middleware infrastructure per application/technology.
Taking the lead in self-development by staying abreast of industry trends and sharing your knowledge with your colleagues.
Coaching and mentoring other engineers and chapter members.
Managing security and risk guidelines and supporting system documentation related to risk requirements.
Role modeling in the development of your own capability across industry trends, technologies, methodologies, and behaviors.
Defining systems integrations, design patterns, and development standards to support cross-functional, multi-system solutions that scale and are flexible to meet current and future needs of the organization.
Partnering with the Corporate team in creating/updating standard operations procedures and reporting.
What are we looking for? Someone who has… 7+ years in development/software engineering (Java / Web technologies and frameworks: Spring (Core, Security, MVC), JPA, REST API, JMS) and preferably working within the Banking & Financial domain.
Strong experience with technical leadership of software applications/projects with demonstrated stakeholder and people management skills.
Hands-on experience on API related activities: requirement analysis, design, resource-based API modeling, micro-services architecture.
Strong knowledge about design patterns and development principles.
Good practical knowledge of design of RDBMS and SQL.
Demonstrated experience and proficient understanding of tools across the full software delivery lifecycle, e.g., IDE, source control, CI, test, mocking, work tracking, defect management, etc.
Exposure to cloud, automation & frontend technologies – Desirable.
Tech stack we work on: Varied testing practices such as Selenium, TDD/BDD, PACT, chaos engineering & scripting languages such as Power Shell or Bash.
