The Chief People Officer (CPO) Division provides a range of enabling services to DVA's business areas to support them in providing quality services to its veterans and their families.
The Integrity, Security & Property Branch assists this goal through the provision of business integrity, investigation, compliance, security and records management support to DVA business functions.
The Fraud Response Section is responsible for activities contributing to the prevention, detection and deterrence of non-compliance and/or fraudulent behaviour against DVA's programs and services.

An opportunity exists for an APS6 Senior Intelligence Analyst within the Intelligence team of the Fraud Response Section.
Successful candidates will utilise their leadership experience and intelligence gathering and data analysis skills to develop intelligence products to detect suspected non-compliance and suspected fraud against DVA's programs and services.
They will also use their interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders and to collaborate with other agencies.
This role fulfils a vital element of DVAs fraud detection capabilities and serves to protect public funds from illegal activities, error and loss.
Duties

Leadership / management of geographically dispersed and multi-disciplined teams.
Leading and coordinating the collection, analysis and dissemination of intelligence to support decision-making.
Ensuring compliance with relevant policies, standards and procedures.
Drawing on professional experience in identifying and gathering relevant information from diverse sources.

Applying a risk based and data driven approach in managing workflows and developing intelligence products within an integrity environment.
Undertaking objective and systematic analysis of data, to detect instances of fraud and non-compliance issues across payments, programs and services.

Developing high-quality intelligence products to support remedies for matters involving non-compliance and/or that require criminal investigation.
Support inter-disciplinary and inter-agency liaison to maintain productive networks and to promote information sharing, partnerships and common understanding.
Mentoring, developing and supporting staff, colleagues and management within the team that promotes a culture of flexibility and improvement.

Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must be able to evidence a successful completion of;
Certificate IV Government Investigations, equivalent or higher.

Eligibility

Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance.
The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
The successful candidate will be required obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance.
(NV1 security clearance may be required for some secondment opportunities)

Notes This recruitment process is being used to fill ongoing and/or non-ongoing position/s.

Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 23 months.

A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
