This exciting full-time ongoing hybrid role works as part of the Governance and Executive Support branch at The Administrative Review Tribunal and can be located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney or Perth.
About the opportunity
This dynamic and fast paced role reports to the Director Executive Support and provides a range of executive support to Jurisdictional Area Leaders and List Leaders of the Tribunal.
This includes support relating to key events, including Tribunal Advisory Committee meetings, adhoc reporting, preparation of briefs, presentations and speaking notes, travel arrangements and a range of administrative support.
It's a great opportunity to be exposed to a wide range of issues across the Tribunal.
The Executive Support Team is a small, geographically diverse team and has a high-performance culture, striving for excellence and continual improvement.
Everyone has a 'can do' attitude and no job is too big or too small for the team to take on.

The key duties of the position include:
Innovation and Change: Generate solutions and implement new or changed ways of working to enhance the Tribunal's capacity for providing consistent, high-quality and accessible services to users.
Foster a culture of embracing change and continuous improvement.
Leadership and Management: Manage a geographically dispersed team in accordance with APS Values and Code of Conduct, participative management practices, WHS obligations and workplace diversity principles.
Build capability, manage performance and identify training needs to maintain a high level of skill and technical knowledge.
Model the Tribunal's values and encourage a collaborative and constructive culture.
Service Delivery: Lead a team to deliver high quality executive support functions, ensuring consistent, timely and high-quality services to internal users.
Contribute to the development and delivery of effective service delivery strategies consistent with the needs of internal users and the Tribunal's statutory and other objectives.
Monitor and adjust strategies to ensure delivery of high-quality services.
Use sound judgement to effectively manage complex and sensitive issues.
Strategic and Operational Advice: Provide expert advice to senior management, and day-to-day advice and guidance to colleagues on executive support matters.
Assess and effectively manage risks, escalating as appropriate.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to further the achievement of the Tribunal's statutory objectives and to facilitate the work of the section.
Engage confidently and respectfully with senior stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure coordinated delivery of support for Jurisdictional Area Leaders and List Leaders.
Represent the Tribunal in engagement with external stakeholders and in external forums as required.
About you:
To be successful you will have:
Demonstrated ability to manage and implement change, generate new ideas and approaches, and promote a positive approach to dealing with uncertainty and ambiguity.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive and complex information clearly and with confidence and tact, and adapt to the needs of different audiences.
Demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain productive relationships with senior stakeholders, work collaboratively to identify opportunities and achieve outcomes, and manage sensitive issues effectively.
The ability to think strategically, provide expert advice and exercise sound judgement in a complex and changing environment.
Proven capacity to deliver results, successfully lead or deliver complex projects, develop creative solutions, and manage risks appropriately.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, cultivate a culture of collaboration, and model standards of behaviour consistent with APS Values, APS Employment Principles and APS Code of Conduct.
A sound understanding, or the ability to quickly acquire a sound understanding, of the Tribunal's legislative and policy context, particularly in relation to the delivery of administrative support services to diverse users.
Eligibility Essential:
Baseline Security Clearance – Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
The Tribunal requires Australian Citizenship as a condition of engagement.
All employees are required to undertake an Australian Federal Police Check and a Health Assessment.
Desirable:
Relevant qualifications, training or experience related to one or more functions or powers of the Tribunal.

Getting to know the Administrative Review Tribunal The ART plays a crucial role in the Australian legal landscape, providing a process for individuals and organisations to seek an independent review of decisions made under a wide range of Commonwealth laws.
The ART can take a fresh look at decisions made by Australian Government ministers, departments and agencies – and, in limited circumstances, decisions made by state government and non-government bodies.
It also can review decisions made under Norfolk Island laws.
