The Health and Fitness Officer supervises the fitness centre, maintains all equipment in a clean and safe manner, designs fitness programs for patrons, and provides excellent customer service to all users of the fitness centre as well as Anna Meares Velodrome.

This is a permanent part-time position, 38 hours / fortnight (average of 19 hours / week).

Pace is Brisbane's premier fitness centre offering affordable memberships, quality equipment and expert advice, and is part of the Sleeman Sports Complex (SSC).

Key tasks:

  • Respond to all customer inquiries regarding the fitness centre and velodrome, including face-to-face, over the phone and written correspondence
  • Develop exercise programs
  • Accurate and prompt completion of paperwork including fitness programs
  • Ensure all customers, staff, suppliers and contractors comply with all requirements as laid down in the Gym Procedure Manual
  • Ensure the fitness centre, activities studios and reception area are maintained in a clean state (liaising with venue cleaners as required)
  • Process admissions and payments for services, products and memberships

The position will involve the need for flexibility in working hours, including weekend work.

About you:

  • Certificate IV in Fitness, or equivalent qualification
  • Experience working in a Fitness Centre, as well as experience developing fitness programs
  • Registration with AUSactive (or equivalent) as a Personal Trainer
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
  • Possess a high degree of energy, be physically capable and have the endurance to complete the duties of the position
  • High level of communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Intermediate computer skills (eg word and excel) and experience with EFTPOS and POS membership software

The organisation:

SQ is charged with the management of major sports facilities that are declared under Queensland Government regulation as being venues having the capacity to stage national or international sports events, recreational or entertainment experiences. SQ's portfolio of venues include Suncorp Stadium, The Gabba, Sleeman Sports Complex, Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre, Queensland Country Bank Stadium, Cbus Super Stadium, Queensland Tennis Centre, and People First Stadium.

The above appointment will be in accordance with the Stadiums Queensland Staff Certified Agreement 2023 and other relevant Stadiums Queensland policies and procedures.
