About the Role

As we strive for further success, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and skilled 1st 8+ Coach to become part of our school community on either a casual or part-time, fixed-term basis.

The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering top-notch coaching services to St Catherine's students participating in the 2024/2025 rowing program. Key duties include fostering a positive rowing culture in line with the school's values, overseeing Senior Squad activities, and assisting with equipment and trial procedures under the guidance of the rowing leadership.

To excel in this role, you need to:

  • Demonstrate expertise in rowing coaching and program development
  • Possess strong skills in utilizing rowing-specific technologies for data management and analysis
  • Show prowess in developing and coaching school-level rowers with a track record of success
  • Approach coaching with inclusivity, positivity, and enthusiasm
  • Keep abreast of best practices in coaching and be eager to apply them
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Build and maintain positive relationships, displaying a high level of self-awareness
  • Effectively communicate with and motivate young individuals
  • Capably operate a speedboat
  • Understand the pastoral and duty of care obligations when coaching minors
  • Uphold the School's ethos and values consistently
  • Demonstrate reliability, dependability, and serve as a role model in rowing skills and sportsmanship
  • Possess First Aid qualifications, minimum Level 1 Coaching Accreditation, and Working with Children Check
  • Hold a Victorian Driver's License (Light Rigid License Preferred) and preferably a Boat License
