Our client is a seeking an experienced Workforce Policy Project Officer to join a high performing team. This position will be based in Liverpool with hybrid working available on an initial temporary 12 month contract.

Daily Duties

  • Review, update, and implement People and Culture policies in line with Local Government (State) Award and relevant legislative requirements.
  • Carry out research and analysis from contemporary sources to inform recommendations for policy changes.
  • Plan, monitor and implement multiple policies or projects concurrently.
  • Preparing draft written material including business cases, plans, and corporate documentation required as part of the consultation process.
  • Analysing data and preparing reports in support of good policy development.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and innovation for standards and procedures HR including process mapping or HR functional processes.
  • Develop and maintain effective collaborative working relationships with the People and Culture document owners and relevant teams.
  • Coordinating regular project reporting including status updates.
  • Applying Council's policies and procedures when carrying out work to ensure risks are managed.

Experience

• Demonstrated experience in development and review of policies.

• Ability to analyse, document and improve policy and processes.

• Administrative experience.

• Process mapping skills (including use of Vision) is highly advantageous.

Knowledge and Skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.

• Knowledge of relevant computer software and the ability to undertake computer research.

• Knowledge of Work Health and Safety practices, the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity, ethical practice and multi-cultural diversity

• Ability to manage and comply with deadlines and timeframes.

• Ability to work autonomously and as a team member to prioritise work and achieve outcomes.
