Monash Health is excited to announce a vacant Safety Systems Manager position. The Safety Systems Manager supports the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team and the Monash Health organisation in the development, maintenance and implementation of the Safety Management System, processes and procedures to provide a robust framework for effective Safety risk reduction to minimise the potential for harm, whilst ensuring compliance to OHS legal obligations and relevant standards
- creating timely and accurate organisation wide reports which provide detailed information on high risk areas, trends and data analysis to inform continual improvement;
- overseeing the safety incident management system that delivers on the needs of the business; and
- co-ordinating all Safety funding allocations from external agencies.
- developing and implementing a Safety Audit Program to provide buiness assurance on key safety control

About The Role

The key result areas of the role include:

  • Deliver an effective OHS hazard and incident reporting system and ensure data integrity
  • Manage implementation of the Monash Health internal OHS Audit program.
  • Ensure the OHS strategy and action plans are developed and implemented within identified time frames.
  • Lead the development and implementation of OHS compliance activities to ensure Monash Health's legal obligations are met.
  • Coordinate the development of the organisational Training Needs Analysis and mapping of training programs to meet training requirements overview.
  • Ensure the Occupational Health and Safety Management System is relevant for the organisation, effective and conforms to the requirements of AS 4801 / ISO 45001 or related standard.
  • Coordinate the OHS Safety Management System review process to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop OHS reports for the organisation to provide analysis of performance to inform action, to track performance to target and to provide insights
  • Ensure effective implementation of the Monash Health Corporate Risk Framework as applied to OHS.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the Safety Communication Strategy.
This is a full-time ongoing role, working across the organisation as required.

You have been developing your management and leadership skills or you are an accomplished Safety professional with a track record of attention to detail in managing Safety Systems; either way, you are ready to take this next step in your Career.

You lead by example, thrive working in a dynamic, fast paced environment and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard Safety System and comprehensive insights into safety performance to inform action.
