About the Role

We have an enticing opening for a Support System Delegated Design Authority to join our Hunter Class Line of Business. This role is available at either our Central Office in Melbourne or Osborne in South Australia.

Your responsibilities will involve leading and facilitating engineering tasks and making decisions within the Support System Design Authority's framework to ensure the design's safety, compliance, and fulfillment of contracted requirements (in line with the HCF Engineering Management Plan). This includes overseeing the Support System, encompassing all subsystems and domains as outlined in the Support System Specification, along with relevant components of the Mission System, particularly the Condition Monitoring subsystem and Design for Support aspect across the Mission System.

Utilizing your extensive experience in Integrated Logistics Support, you will collaborate with the Support System Delivery team to guarantee that the Support System Design maximizes Through-Life Capability.

Key Responsibilities (not exhaustive):
  • Ensure compliance with BAE SYSTEMS Engineering Governance requirements
  • Comply with BAE SYSTEMS Engineering Lifecycle
  • Establish and enforce appropriate processes by the project
  • Provide recommendations for Support System development
  • Mentor Support System Delivery teams
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant technical field
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role
  • Expertise in Support Engineering across various disciplines
  • Experience in Australian Defence environment
  • Knowledge of Support Engineering practices
  • Capability in program or engineering management
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities
  • Leadership qualities and adaptability
  • Collaboration and team management skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain relevant Defence Clearances
