The Role:


The Planning Analyst role assists and supports the Merchandise Planner in the achievement of budgeted sales, gross profit and inventory productivity measures.

Reporting to the Merchandise Planner, it's a broad inventory-based role where you will get the opportunity to directly influence our profitability through data-based decision making.


The role will be involved in:

  • Core line management.
  • Allocation support.
  • Inventory management and control.

Your Key Responsibilities will include but limited to:

  • Building and producing reports.
  • Conducting analysis and making recommendations.
  • Core Line forecasting and purchase planning.
  • Managing inter store transfers (consolidations).
  • Supporting the allocation process through guiding and coaching the Allocator.
  • Markdown modelling.
  • Managing the inventory outcomes of the new store opening process.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand data and analytics and make recommendations as a result.
  • Product forecasting experience.
  • Proven ability to manage inventory through prior analytical/commercial role with a good understanding of merchandise inventory basics.
  • Ability to take a proactive approach and think strategically.
  • Advanced excel skills with the ability to champion excel based projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
