Role requires someone with a knowledgeable and diversified background The role for PM Transport Supervisor in the linehaul team encompasses the overall management of the shared and direct linehaul network nationally with management of DHL fleet, contracted fleet and carrier management.

DHL Supply Chain is a Great Place to Work

Position provides sole PM linehaul coverage for national linehaul network, encompassing night management of carrier network with express carton network freight across Ambient and TCT assets.

Knowledge of transport allocations and management within a linehaul network across Ambient and temperature control is advantageous as well as any fleet management and maintenance exposure.

Managing various carriers across our linehaul network for road freight nationally, with carrier and stakeholder management and customer interface being the primary role. Billing, KPIS and cost and charge recoveries are priority daily tasks with pricing and procurement tasks across suppliers and contractor engagement and management.

You have the following qualities & qualifications:

Working with a supportive team and providing high levels of service to our customers and operations, you will:

  • you will be responsible for overseeing fleet and equipment outcomes to ensure the highest levels of driver, fleet, and equipment safety and compliance (COR)
  • be the main contact between customer, carriers, dispatch points and planning teams, facilitating relationships that yield continuous improvement.
  • work with our operations and planning teams to monitor information and priorities, ensuring the correct scheduling of linehauls for distribution on our transport solution based networks
  • execute transport plans and allocations at a national level and effectively monitor performance, identifying any opportunities for improvement and optimized utilization, reliability and unit costs to be commercially viable
  • Effective management of linehauls to ensure DIFOT and KPI's are achieved, monitoring temperature control checks, linehaul break downs and DIFOT across the network
  • work closely with our internal stakeholders including our transport, sales, finance and warehouse teams to coordinate the most efficient and cost-effective delivery schedules for our customers ensuring utilisation across the network.
  • Support the Linehaul Manager with overseeing day to day movements of vehicles to ensure all operations are executed on time and safely.
  • Ensuring maximum productivity is achieved through dedicated and informed planning.
  • Take reasonable and practicable actions to verify and ensure activities comply with relevant legislation, and company policies, procedures, safe working method standards and rules.
  • Initiate incident reports and service failure reports as required.
  • Maintain operations logs, prepare, and issue shift operations reports, billing, consignments, PODs and SOPs.
  • Monitor loads to ensure compliance with relevant legislative requirements;
  • Real-time tracking of deliveries
  • Proven experience in a similar role involving transport load planning, driver allocating or fleet allocating desirable
  • Monitor drivers progress against schedules, discuss with drivers any issues on a daily basis and collaborate with customer to ensure targets are met

  • 2-3 years previous experience in Transport, Warehousing, sea freight and or rail operations desirable
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with customers and all levels of management within the business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office specifically Excel Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
