The Position

We are seeking a Property Accountant to join our Retail Finance team on a temporary basis, providing precise financial and management reports for a diverse range of retail assets.

The team plays a central role in all financial activities related to Asset Management for the Retail portfolio, ensuring accurate, timely, and meaningful information is available to manage the group's assets and comply with reporting regulations.

Collaborating closely with the Divisional Finance Manager, this role covers various reporting aspects including month-end reports, debtors, budgeting, profit and loss analysis, auditing tasks, and more.

Please note - this is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

Your Responsibilities

  • Handle month-end, half-year, and full-year reporting
  • Prepare month-end workbooks, including accruals and rent reconciliations
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide comments on budget performance
  • Prepare valuation packs for the Investment Manager team
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Take on ad hoc tasks as required, such as process improvement and trend analysis
Your Standout Qualities

To excel in this role, you should possess relevant tertiary qualifications and prior Accounting experience. Exposure to the retail sector or experience with Big 4 firms will be highly regarded. Additionally, having started your CA/CPA studies is beneficial.

You must have strong Excel skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
