About this position


The Development Projects and Sustainability team requires an experienced Planner with strong organisational and communication skills, an eye for detail and a commitment to excellent customer service to facilitate the delivery of major capital projects from inception through to completion.

The role will also manage and conduct regular reviews of the City's Public Open Space Strategy.


The Development Projects Officer role is diverse and includes a broad range of tasks relating to Planning, Land Administration and Project Management.

The position works collaboratively with internal and external local and state government stakeholders and the community.

What we are looking for

To be successful, you will have:

  • Ability to engage corporate stakeholders and the community through excellent written and verbal communication skills. This includes balancing competing priorities of multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong experience working in a planning environment, providing input to ensure planning proposals meet relevant legislation and policies, managing the subdivision process.
  • Sound knowledge of land use planning and land administration functions.
  • Experience in project management and working within a budget.
  • High level of organisational and time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a dynamic team and be accountable and responsible for own actions, as well as assisting and contributing to the team in order to achieve excellent results.

Essential requirements

  • Current National Police clearance (less than three months old)
  • Driver's licence
  • White card
  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning, or equivalent tertiary qualification.
