How will I help?


We are currently looking for a skilled Manager Data Management to join our Risk Data Office team This role will involve undertaking and maintaining assessments of key risks and identification of mitigating data controls for Critical Data Elements (CDEs) across end-to-end lineage.

You'll be responsible for documenting and maintaining data lineage (business data flows) for CDEs, coordinating and reviewing risk and controls assessments where activity is undertaken by delivery projects, and undertaking analysis of data controls (including weaknesses and gaps) as required to support planning, decision making, and remediation.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be supporting the ongoing improvement of CDE Onboarding tools and processes.

This role has a significant stakeholder management component and requires the ability to engage, inform, influence, and negotiate with stakeholders across Risk Division and the broader Westpac Group.

What do I need?


You'll have 5+ years of experience in information technology, data management, or a related field and bring strong business analysis (including data and controls) and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence others to drive results.

You should have a strong focus to solve data and information problems, and strong organisational and time management skills.


Experience working across 1 or more Financial Crime capabilities (e.g., Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Monitoring, Suspicious Matter Reporting, etc.) and/ or experience in Credit Risk Reporting and Analytics (e.g., Provisioning, Basel II / III, Credit Modelling, etc.) is highly desirable.


To excel in this role, you will need excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

You must also have strong presentation skills, personal drive, and accountability, and be a team player able to build collaborative working relationships across team members and other stakeholders.
