The Council is searching for a candidate to conduct data collection and analysis on shared paths using advanced AI/ML devices. This role is vital for enhancing the safety and usability of footpaths and bikeways in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of shared paths, covering a minimum of 1000km, using Council-developed AI/ML devices.
  • Follow established methodologies for data collection to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Save inspection data regularly, with a minimum frequency of before each break and daily.
  • Identify ways to improve data collection processes, focusing on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Provide daily verbal and weekly written progress reports on inspection activities.
  • Independently operate and enhance computer and data acquisition systems to maintain data integrity and security.
  • Prioritize personal health and safety at work and promote a secure working environment for colleagues and the public.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team, offering support to teammates as needed.
  • Conduct pre-start and post-use checks on vehicles and computer systems.
  • Engage in training, performance evaluations, and development initiatives to boost job performance and skills.
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills when interacting with the public on behalf of the Council.

Requirements:

  • Hold a current Australian "C" class driver's license.
  • Possess a 30215 QLD - General Safety Induction Card (White Card).
  • Have basic computer skills and proficiency in using mobile devices (tablets/smartphones).
  • Understand computer systems and be able to operate data storage and backup systems.
  • Completed Working in Proximity to Traffic – Awareness Part 1 and 2 or the ability to obtain it quickly.
  • Knowledge or the ability to acquire proficiency in MS Office and ESRI software.
  • Be able to work independently and contribute effectively within a small team.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of data collection systems and experience in implementing process improvements.
