Role Description/Criteria
Loreto Mandeville Hall Toorak is a Catholic independent school that aims to be the leading girls' school in Australia.

The position

  • We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic Learning Support Officer to work with the Classroom Teacher in assisting students from years P6, that have a variety of individual learning needs. This role is offered as a full time, 12month contract, commencing Term
  • Responsibilities of the role will include:
  • Assist the Classroom Teacher to develop a stimulating learning environment by using a variety of styles and approaches to cater for individual learning needs
  • In consultation with the Classroom Teacher, Learning Diversity Leader and the appropriate Head of Curriculum, employ a variety of strategies to effectively implement the curriculum
  • Arrange appropriate amount of time for lesson preparation and organisation as requested by the Classroom Teacher, Learning Diversity Leader or Head of Curriculum
  • Be familiar with the standards of professional practice as articulated in the Australian Standards of Teaching and the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria (CECV), where appropriate
  • Embrace the use of Information and Communications Technologies
  • Provide meaningful and timely feedback to parents, through approved communication channels
  • Ensure compliance with OH&S Policy and Procedures
  • Maintain excellent communication and relationships with students and staff
  • Liaise with appropriate support staff, where appropriate, in the implementation of the curriculum e.g. Learning Diversity department, Library staff

About You
To be successful in this position, it is essential that you have:

  • Experience and expertise working as an Integration Aide/Classroom Assistant/Learning Support Officer
  • Ability to build, establish and maintain relationships
  • A collaborative approach with colleagues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Commitment to actively participate in the cocurricular and pastoral activities of the School
  • Working with Children Check and National Criminal History Check
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications would be highly regarded
