The Opportunity:
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a high performing Executive Assistant at the PSL4 classification to support the Assistant Secretary, Security Enabling Services Branch.
The Security Division is responsible for broader security functions to support the business of DPS and Australian Parliament House (APH) security arrangements, engaging with many different APH security stakeholders, including the AFP, the Department of the House of Representatives, the Department of the Senate, the Ministerial Wing Support and other entities within the Parliamentary precincts.
As an Executive Assistant, you will asssit the Assistant Secretary, Security Enabling Services Branch by managing calendars, coordinating meetings and events, preparation of correspondence, collating documentation, keeping accurate records, and making travel arrangements.

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 4 classification.
The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide high level administrative support to SES Band 1 Assistant Secretary Security Enabling Services Branch, including:
- calendar management, including travel arrangements
- arrange and co-ordinate meetings and events
- monitor, screen, respond to and distribute incoming communications, and
- assistance with coordination functions
- Develop efficient and effective work practices and ensure consistency in meeting deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to build and foster productive working relationships across the department.
- Prepare correspondence and other ad hoc documents (sensitive material for meetings etc.) as directed and liaise and undertake follow-up action as required.
- Other duties as required.
- Employees of DPS are required to be able, and to be seen to be able, to provide professional advice and services to all Senators and Members without favour or prejudice._
