  • The Australian Radioactive Waste Agency (ARWA) is leading the responsible management and safe storage and disposal of Australia's radioactive waste. A key element of ARWA's program is the delivery of the National Radioactive Waste Management Facility which will provide a purposebuilt, engineered solution to manage radioactive waste from sources such as nuclear medicine production.

The key duties of the position include:

  • Driving the development, maintenance, and implementation of ARWA's overarching IMS/QMS.
  • Continuously enhancing the internal IMS/QMS documentation, incorporating the elements of relevant ISO standards. Implement and lead an ARWA IMS/QMS Steering Working Group.
  • Acting as the central point of reference for integrated management and quality matters, providing leadership to resolve any issues.
  • Facilitating the review of the IMS/QMS systems by senior management through monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Identifying, establishing, and implementing system improvement initiatives.
  • Establishing internal audit schedule and manage the process to ensure internal audits are undertaken appropriately and in a timely manner, as well as conducting internal audits.
  • Drafting, reviewing, controlling, and reporting on appropriate documentation.
  • Producing quality documentation and ensure the quality of documents are maintained as per an established review cycle.
  • Assisting the relevant teams to ensure documentation is in place to achieve relevant ISO standards.
  • A technical background and previously worked in an organisation with an accredited Integrated Management System.
  • Knowledge of integrated management and quality systems that are accredited to ISO standards.
  • Significant experience in internal auditing and preparation of relevant documentation.
