We are currently seeking an experienced Quality System Specialist to join our Quality Team based in Oakey. This role supports Boeing Defence Australia's Maintenance and Logistic Support Services (MLSS) contract. It is ideal for an aerospace maintenance engineer keen on transitioning from hands-on tools to a quality-focused position.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the achievement of tactical and strategic quality objectives. You will play a key role in providing tools, materials, and services for the Royal Singaporean Air Force, as well as supporting the broader BDA Quality function. Your responsibilities will revolve around fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating with Program and Functional leadership to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Collaborating with the Part 145 Responsible Manager and Quality Manager to maintain regulatory compliance and approvals
  • Undertaking delegated Part 145 Quality Manager duties as necessary to support program operations
  • Conducting internal audits to assess system compliance and identify opportunities for enhancement
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining quality directives, policies, plans, processes, and program-specific work instructions
  • Tracking, monitoring, measuring, and reporting on the performance of the program QMS
  • Leading or coordinating investigations and root cause analysis activities
  • Collaborating with the team to deliver quality support for the CH-47F helicopter

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Technical or further education qualifications in Quality Management, Engineering, or relevant technical experience
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS 9110 standards
  • Completed ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training or a willingness to obtain it
  • Proactive and independent issue resolution capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with key stakeholders
  • Australian Citizenship to meet Defence security requirements

Desirable qualifications and experiences include:

  • Aviation Maintenance-related qualification
  • CASA or DASR Part 66 Licence or equivalent
  • Understanding of DASR Part 145 and Part 66 regulations
  • Experience with the CH-47 Chinook helicopter
  • Knowledge of Lean methodology
