You will be critical in ensuring that relationships between employers and industry stakeholders and the Institute are strong, positive, and nurtured for maximum mutual benefit.

Highly skilled communication and repetitive engagement are key to the success of this role.


Opening the lines of communication, principally between employers aligned to the Jobs Victoria Engineering Project, this role will improve relationships, communications and outcomes and increase the Project's outcomes and the Institute's reputation.

Naturally, greater business opportunities present to improved relationships and reputation.


The Industry Engagement Lead will provide a link between Chisholm Institute, the Jobs Victoria Engineering Project, and employers in the manufacturing sector, with the aim of recruiting employers to participate in the project.

This position will work with employers to prepare them for the project, and their requirements within the project.

Your key accountabilities will be to:

  • Meet with the employers' onsite and provide one-on-one personalised customer service, including explanation of the Jobs Victoria Engineering Project
  • Manage relationships with employers registered to the project, throughout the southeast of Melbourne, providing ongoing support for employers to ensure jobseeker retention
  • Act as a key liaison and advisor to employers and industry during the early stages of their employment by promoting the project and providing information and guidance on the services in the project
  • Assist employers to quickly resolve issues arising with stakeholders in that relationship
  • Deliver a structured yet clientcentric approach to employer & industry services
  • Proactively uncover client needs, and relay possible solutions to Project and Delivery Area teams
  • Identify opportunities, like site and/or campus visits, presentations, awards and other opportunities to include employers in Chisholm events & activities

ABOUT YOU
You will have a relevant vocational qualification in a trade field, engineering or manufacturing

Crucial to your success will be your proven track record in:

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to self-manage caseloads
  • Demonstrated clear, concise written communication skills
  • Highly developed communication & presentation skills with experience B2B relationships
  • Welldeveloped customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and to use own initiative
  • Sound knowledge and familiarity of the Victorian Vocational Education and Training sector including the role of RTOs and Australian Apprenticeship Support Networks
