Our Client is a privately owned Aged Care group headquartered in Brisbane, embarking on an extensive growth journey across the Greater Brisbane region. We are looking for an Accountant to join the Finance team on a permanent basis, this role plays a pivotal part in the financial operations, supporting the Senior Accountant, under the direction of the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable across multiple entities.
  • Oversee Fixed Assets and Capital Works.
  • Support contract renewals and reporting.
  • Prepare end-of-month reconciliations and journals.
  • Ensure adherence to Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Handle monthly claims and reimbursements.
  • Manage statutory obligations such as BAS, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, and other regular lodgements.
  • Engage in reporting, budgeting, and ad-hoc financial analysis.
  • Assist with annual reporting requirements and audit preparations.
  • Contribute to the creation, review, and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Review and support payroll processes.
  • Support the onboarding, development, and performance management of Finance Officers and other junior team members.
  • Liaise with contractors and business partners.
  • Undertake project management and other reasonable tasks as needed.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, e.g., Bachelor of Business Accounting.
  • National Police Certificate.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Independent initiative and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Adaptable to change with a willingness to cross-train and learn.
  • Proven experience in similar roles.
  • CA/CPA qualification or working towards (preferred)
