About the role:

As the successful applicant, you will provide administrative support within an existing team.

Your primary role will be as an Administration/Property Officer within Southern Metro Division Three with initial duties at the Dandenong Police Station, based in the Divisional Event Planning Office (DEPO).

The DEPO is the central facility for the completion and coordination of all staff (sworn and VPS) rostering including leave, duty rosters, events and operation deployments in Southern Metro Division 3.

This includes any contribution to region, division, police service area or local response zone duty and event commitments.
The DEPO is also responsible for online course compliance and booking of internal/external courses.

The preferred applicant will also be expected to assist with other general administration tasks for the SD3 Tasking & Coordination unit.

Your duties will include:

  • Compilation of fortnightly rosters each with specific requirements, strict timeframes and complex issues to resolve.
  • Perform a variety of computerised administrative tasks.
  • Administrative duties relating to operational rosters, mandatory training courses and leave rostering.
  • Attend enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, provide initial information and advice as required.
  • Receive, record and distribute mail and correspondence as required.
  • Prepare routine correspondence on a range of administrative matters and attend to followup procedures as required.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Ability for strategic and creative thinking.
  • Strong attention to detail and problemsolving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure with late notice events and resourcing issues.
  • Selfmanage responsibility of allocated portfolio and be accountable.
  • Experience in working with computers and systems to perform a range of administrative tasks including, records management, data entry and word processing tasks.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite primarily Word and Excel.
  • Must have the ability to accurately maintain systematic and administrative records.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work successfully within a team environment and ability to work independently.
  • Prioritisation skills and ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Be adaptable to change.
