About the Role:


As the successful applicant, your primary role will be as an Administrative/Property Officer within Southern Metro Division Two (SD2) Secretariat with initial duties at the Moorabbin Police Complex, based in the SD2 Tasking and Co-ordination area.

Initial duties will include the completion and coordination of uniform staff (sworn) rostering including leave, duty rosters, events and operation deployments in Southern Metro Division Two.

This includes any contribution to region, division, police service area or local response zone duty and event commitments.
SD2 Tasking and Co-ordination is also responsible in booking internal/external courses for the Division.

The preferred applicant will also be expected to assist with other general administrative/property tasks for the SD2 Tasking & Coordination unit as well as other work units within the division.

Your duties will include:

  • Compilation of fortnightly rosters each with specific requirements, strict timeframes and complex issues to resolve.
  • Perform a variety of computerised administrative tasks, operational rosters, mandatory training courses and leave rostering.
  • Attend enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, provide initial information and advice as required.
  • Receive, record and distribute mail and correspondence as required.
  • The preparation and follow up of a wide range of routine correspondence, financial, personnel, statistical and other various types of transactions as required.
  • Provide general office support tasks, including the operation and maintenance of office equipment and ordering for the station or work unit.
  • Be actively involved in providing daily administrative and property support within a busy complex when required.
  • Undertake the preparation, maintenance and management of various confidential records and registers which can be manual and electronic.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Ability for strategic and creative thinking.
  • Strong attention to detail and problemsolving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure with late notice events and resourcing issues.
  • Have strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office suite
- namely Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Must have the ability to accurately maintain systematic and accurate administrative records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of communication channels and platforms.
  • Ability to work successfully within a team environment and ability to work independently.
  • Prioritisation skills and ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Show initiative and proactive work practices.
  • Be adaptable to change.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x fulltime, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at the Moorabbin Police Complex, Nepean Hwy Moorabbin, VIC, 3189. However, you may be required to work at any of the following locations within Southern Metro Region Division Two, Moorabbin Police Complex, Chelsea Police Complex, Mordialloc Police Complex, Cheltenham Police Complex, Bayside Police Complex and Caulfield Police Complex.
