Our organisation is part of a complex group of companies which includes various special purpose vehicles such as Super Funds and as such we are seeking a Finance Assistant that has previous working experience.

The role reports to our Financial Controller and thus many of your day to day actions will be supporting their function.

  • Supporting accounts receivable and payable: You will be responsible for supporting the accounts receivable and payable functions (we have dedicated people performing these functions but may require support from time to time), including invoicing clients and paying vendors.
  • Supporting the payroll process: You will support the payroll process for our businesses, including calculating and recording employee wages and taxes. We have a Payroll Officer who predominantly performs this function but we expect you to support this role during periods of leave, etc.
  • Preparing financial statements: You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to help the business understand its financial position.
  • Communicating with stakeholders: You will need to communicate with the shareholders, management team, and external stakeholders such as banks and tax authorities to provide financial information and answer any questions they may have.
  • Managing budgets: You will be responsible for creating and managing budgets for the business, including forecasting revenue and expenses.
  • Complying with tax laws: You will need to ensure that the business complies with all relevant tax laws and regulations, including filing tax returns and paying taxes on time.
  • Monitoring financial performance: You will be responsible for monitoring the financial performance of the business, identifying trends, and making recommendations to improve financial performance.

As a fast growing group of companies, here's what we're looking for:

  • Your Financial record keeping skills are second to none, and you have a proven track record of success.
  • You understand deadlines and work to ensure your work is proactively completed (we don't do late).
  • You are keen to have a career at a fast growing company that strives for excellence in all that it does.
  • Your communication skills are amazing and you provide your team with positive energy.
  • You foster a cando attitude.
  • You possess an immense attention to detail and are keen to ensure that we are operating as efficiently as possible.
  • You are a wizard with providing reports via excel and/or other platforms.
  • You are tech savvy and are happy to learn new systems.
The role is based at our vibrant head office in Coburg, VIC and is a full-time, permanent position.

We require all team members to have and maintain a valid state-based Working with Children Check and a Police Check.
