The role
Effectively and efficiently investigate complex fraud and scams, in order to minimise fraud losses and maximise recovery.


This role sits in our Fraud & Investigations department, who are responsible for supporting customers that have been targeted by fraud and scams.

They detect suspicious activity and receive incoming reports from customers, while working to recover money that has been lost and conduct investigations to determine whether the bank is liable.


What you'll do

  • Investigate complex and high value fraud and scam cases
  • Analyse complex data from multiple systems within the bank to reach objective, dataled conclusions as to liability under the epayments code
  • Return customers to a prefraud state where appropriate
  • Field incoming calls from customers in relation to ongoing epayments cases and Suncorp branch and contact centre staff reporting fraud & scam concerns
  • Support other investigators, providing guidance, advice, and training to ensure that investigations are conducted in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Approve investigation reports presented by other investigators as per delegation
  • Prepare files of evidence and report matters to the police on behalf of Suncorp, giving evidence on behalf of Suncorp in court where appropriate
  • Assist in responding to complaints including where escalated through AFCA
  • Provide cover for Senior Investigators (including triaging new cases and allocating them to other investigators) during periods of leave or absence

What you'll bring

  • Qualification in investigations, law or accounting (desirable)
  • 3 years banking or equivalent experience (desirable)
  • 3 years investigations, forensic or equivalent experience (mandatory)
  • Customer service experience (desirable)
