As Business Services / Tax Manager, you will manage a comprehensive portfolio of high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) and large groups, handling complex issues such as business restructuring, tax consolidations, budgeting, and acquisitions.
You'll balance a mix of compliance (60%) and consulting (40%) activities, ensuring excellence in service delivery and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:Client Advisory:

  1. Business Restructuring: Provide strategic advice on optimizing business structures for operational efficiency and tax effectiveness.
  2. Tax Consolidations: Assist clients with the complexities of tax consolidations, ensuring compliance and maximizing tax benefits.
  3. Budgeting and Cash Flow Projections: Develop detailed budgets and cash flow projections to support clients' financial planning and decision-making.
  4. Acquisitions: Guide clients through the tax implications and financial structuring of acquisitions and mergers.
  5. FBT and GST Compliance: Ensure clients are compliant with Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and Goods and Services Tax (GST) regulations, providing proactive advice and solutions.
  6. Business Valuations: Conduct thorough business valuations for various purposes including sale, acquisition, and internal planning.

Team Leadership:

  1. Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of five accountants, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  2. Performance Development: Regularly assess and develop team members' skills, providing training and growth opportunities.
  3. Client Relationship Development: Work with Partners in fortnightly meetings to strengthen existing client relationships and strategize on acquiring new clients.

Firm Development:

  1. Senior Manager Pathway: Engage with Partners to outline and pursue a clear pathway to becoming a Senior Manager.
  2. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and client service delivery.

Skills and Experience Required:

  1. Expertise in Tax and Compliance: In-depth knowledge of tax regulations, particularly in FBT and GST.
  2. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for business valuations, budgeting, and cash flow management.
  3. Client Advisory: Proven experience in providing strategic tax and business advice to HNWIs and large corporate clients.
  4. Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
  5. Communication: Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
  6. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industries such as utilities, advertising, telecommunications, and IT.
