(Organisation site )Strat Policy & Implementation; Womens Safety and Violence Prevention; Women's Safety and Victims and Community Support; Brisbane CityExciting permanent opportunity to work in the Women's Safety and Violence Prevention - Strategic Policy and Implementation team which contributes to the ongoing development and implementation of the Queensland Government's commitments relating to the prevention of and response to domestic, family and sexual violence. The Senior Policy Officer provides evidence-based strategic policy advice within a fast-paced team environment. You will contribute to policy development and monitoring to support the Queensland government's strategic objectives in relation to preventing domestic, family and sexual violence. Also contributing to the development of Queensland's women's safety and violence prevention strategic policy and projects and the national women's safety strategic policy agenda.

Work in a team to identify, research, develop and analyse policy issues to develop evidence-based policy solutions in relation to women's safety and violence prevention.

Review Cabinet documents and prepare advice on relevant policy, legislation and programs.

Plan, implement and monitor progress of policy projects within tight timeframes to contribute to preventing domestic, family and sexual violence.

Liaise and consult to identify issues and to develop practical policy solutions across our division, wider department, inter-governmental stakeholders and key external stakeholders.

Prepare a range of written materials including briefing notes, memorandums for approval, speaking points, project plans, correspondence, discussion papers and reports to a high standard.

Technical skills, abilities and cultural capability.

You will bring:
High level communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills including preparation of succinct and clear policy advice that considers all relevant perspectives.

Efficiency and organisational skills with the ability to work independently on smaller complex tasks and contribute collaboratively to larger projects with others.

Knowledge, skills, experience, or interest in the following will be favourably regarded:
Domestic, family, and sexual violence policy or related social policy areas.
Gender equality and the primary prevention of violence against women and children.
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and stakeholders.
Domestic and family violence and/or sexual violence specialist service sector experience.
Basic project management skills.
