Senior Policy Officer - Policy & Funding Negotiations - Early Years

The National Strategy (Policy Funding Negotiation - Early Years) team is seeking a Senior Policy Officer to work on a wide variety ofmatters including participation in national and state policy and research activities to inform the future direction of early childhood in Queensland and the provision of support and advice to senior officers on a range of strategicissues impacting the education sector."The Department of Education are dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the community and schools we support by treating everyone with respect and dignity. About the Role:
Coordination and provision of strategic advice and social and economic analysis to enable quality executive decision making.
Participate in, and coordinate aspects of, projects and teams to successfully formulate innovative and workable policy options and solutions.

Assist in the creation of frameworks for policy development and reform of the provision and administration of early childhood education, school education and tertiary education services.

Participate in teams and projects to develop strategy, policy and performance frameworks.

Participate in, and coordinate aspects of, research and assessment of strategic policy initiatives and development of strategic advice to the Minister, the Director-General and senior officers of the department.

Assist with the preparation of cabinet submissions, policy responses, speeches, articles, briefings and correspondence.

Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external networks, and liaise with senior officers or representatives in a range of government and non-government agencies.

Participate in a challenging, equitable, ethical and safe work environment for project staff, which encourages commitment, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement.

Maintain recent knowledge of issues and initiatives in education policy and practice occurring at an international, national and state level.

Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
