An opportunity exists to join a dynamic team within the Queensland Police Service working in the area of child protection.
The position will involve research, analysis and providing advice on significant policy issues which contribute to service delivery in the area of investigating/responding to child harm.
The core capability requirements for this role are:
Provide high quality, well-researched advice to senior management in relation to issues effecting policing of Child Abuse and Sexual Crimes and respond to such issues by developing effective policy options and strategies.
Perform project and research tasks aimed at the investigation, analysis and evaluation of issues affecting Child Abuse and Sexual Crimes.
Contribute as part of a multi-disciplinary team to the planning, development, implementation and monitoring of Whole of Government strategies and Queensland Police Service strategic and operational plans related to policing Child Abuse and Sexual Crimes.
Monitor, evaluate and review policies, legislation and practices across Government and within the Queensland Police Service, which impact on Child Abuse and Sexual Crimes and liaise and negotiate with those agencies to achieve an appropriate holistic response.
Prepare correspondence, briefings and submissions for senior management, the Minister, Cabinet and other diverse audiences regarding Child Abuse and Sexual Crimes.
Produce timely and accurate information to be used for the purpose of evaluating programs, providing a basis for planning and policy development, and the assessment of legislative impacts on policing Child Abuse and Sexual Crimes.
Consult and liaise effectively with other areas of the Queensland Police Service and relevant Government departments and non-government organisations on Child Abuse and Sexual Crimes issues, as appropriate, and represent the Queensland Police Service on inter-agency forums.
Role Requirements:
Applicants are advised that whilst performing the duties of the position they may be exposed to material (written, visual and audio) of a graphic and sensitive nature.
The successful applicant may be required to work within any Group/Unit or location within the Brisbane area where business is conducted.
