About Scientific Services:

The Scientific Services provides research support in key operational areas and specialist facilities.

The Metabolomics Facility is an essential resource and is part of the state of the art Scientific Services at QIMRB, providing scientific and technical support services to our researchers as well as externally to provide a strong scientific ecosystem in the Metro North Health Precinct and in South east Queensland.


Role Purpose / Responsibilities:

Applications are invited for experienced metabolomics specialist to manage the metabolomics facility.

Reporting to the General Manager Scientific Services, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the day to day running of the Metabolomics Facility.
  • Providing expertise to determine appropriate methods and analyses required by researchers at QIMR Berghofer
  • Maintaining and operating the mass spectrometers and related equipment to ensure effective functioning of the facility.
  • Liaise and attract external users from other research organisations, clinical researchers, biopharma and industry.

  • You will be a highly accomplished leader with a successful track record of managing a metabolomics facility.
  • Highly developed research, analytical, planning, organisational, interpersonal, skills.
  • Expert knowledge and extensive experience in running metabolomics core facilities.
  • Extensive experience in both targeted and nontargeted metabolomics methods
  • Selfmotivated and confident, willing to take initiative

Remuneration:
Salary range is $109,419 to $119,282 p.a.* plus super and salary packaging.
This is a full-time appointment for 1 year with possibility to extend.
