About the Finance and Administration Team:
The Finance & Administration team incorporates financial management, budgeting, treasury, accounts payable and receivable, procurement and administration functions.

Role Purpose / Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for supporting the Institute in the Procurement process by engaging with customers and understanding their needs, manage large and/or complex procurement activities, including planning, tender documentation and evaluation, contract formation and consultation with stakeholders.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the role will develop a new procurement strategy for the Institute and a contract management framework.

The position leads the Procurement team, currently of three members.

The position works closely with the research and scientific staff, building services, ITS, the Project Management Office and other Institute support departments.

About you:

To be successful in this position you will have significant experience managing a procurement or supply chain function, including managing complex procurement activities.

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build productive and trust-based relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Your high-level written communication skills will be demonstrated in your ability to prepare complex technical documents. You will have an aptitude for identifying and implementing opportunities for strategic, process and systems improvements.

Experience in organisations engaged in research, science or health care will be highly regarded, as will a tertiary qualification in a business, procurement or supply chain discipline.

Remuneration:
Salary range is $122,964 to $131,943 p.a. plus super and salary packaging. This is a full-time, permanent appointment.
