Melbourne, Victoria, Australia L3Harris Technologies Full time
:

You don't work at L3Harris just for the advanced technology and equipment:

You work here because you know what - and who - we're protecting.

From families to the intelligence community, and from our climate to our men and women in uniform - you can make the world a safer place.

Your next role
Join our Melbourne office in a newly created role as our Commercial Manager.

This role is exciting yet challenging and requires a confident professional who is able to negotiate commercially while effectively maintaining important relationships, along with the ability to resolve highly complex problems, use sound judgement, and develop creative solutions.

This is an opportunity to take on unique challenges, expand your skillset, and contribute to an industry leading Air Traffic Modernisation initiative.

Focusing on current projects and clients, you will contribute to the end-to-end commercial management of these major contracts. As a Subject Matter Expert, you will ensure company compliance with government regulations, corporate policies, and best practices. You will also be involved with analyzing, preparing, and negotiating contractual agreements as the business opportunity presents.

What the role will involve:

  • Act as an advisor for proposal and contract execution, including detailed risk analysis and offering sound business advice and guidance for all critical pursuits.
  • Lead the management of a complex head contract, which includes relationship management, beginningtoend contract management, and maintenance of schedules, coordinating responses, identifying risks, and ensuring a smooth and efficient delivery to the customer.
  • Proactive management of high volumes of change. This requires an ability to follow the contractual change process and other change mechanisms developed to ensure timely responses, working closely with subcontract teammates to ensure our subcontractors meet deadlines, evaluating change information, consolidating information into concise and effective contractual documentation, commercially negotiating contractual clauses and pricing, and understanding the flowdowns between the head contract and the subcontracts.
  • Managing and working collaboratively with the broader Commercial and Contracts Team and ensuring all commitments are met. Develop strong customer relationships within the program teams, interacting frequently with senior leadership, and working as a team to resolve issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Graduate Degree with substantive experience in proposals, developing contract terms and conditions, and identifying associated commercial risk as they relate to a work scope.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Contract Management, Commerce, Law, etc.) from a recognized institution, and/or equivalent relevant commercial experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience with commercial contracting/subcontracting, preferable ability to manage servicesbased contracts/subcontracts.
  • Proven ability dealing with high volumes of change management.
  • Strong interpersonal, and verbal communication skills necessary for working in a collaborative and positive team environment.

Additional benefits
At L3Harris, we value and appreciate everything our people do for us, and offer an attractive package.

A few of our benefits are:

  • Flexible working hours and hybrid working where possible
  • Salary continuance insurance (This is insurance paid by the company for our employees, and protects most for up to 75% of their income in the event of injury or illness)
  • A purchased Leave Scheme (to give you more work life balance up to 2 weeks)
  • Employee Incentive Program
  • Training and development opportunities
