About the role
WesTrac has a fantastic career opportunity for a Product Manager to join our team based at Tomago.
Reporting to the Resource Industries Sales Manager, the Product Manager is responsible for the proactive development of product strategies to ensure market competitive offerings are delivered to grow market share and boost customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate will be a central point of contact for information on allocated products and will act as a conduit between Caterpillar, WesTrac and customers on any product issues or improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and timely information to customers on total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Own product strategy and deliver improvements to sales outcomes
- Regularly analyse the market and competitor offerings to inform product management decisions and marketing strategies
- Proactively liaise with Caterpillar and maintain a collaborative relationship to best serve customers
- Act as a technical expert on queries relating to products
- Regularly engage with customers to seed future sales pipelines and promote offerings that meet their needs
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Developed understanding of Caterpillar mining products and their applications
- Sound understanding of mining operations
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute mining product strategies
- Proven experience with managing and resolving technical issues relating to Caterpillar products
- Ability to interpret machine specifications, schematics and technical drawings
- High level of customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain successful working relationships
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal)
- High attention to detail with the ability to identify, implement and manage continuous improvement initiatives
- Experienced with scoping, coordinating and the implementation of strategic projects
