About the Role

WesTrac currently are seeking an experienced senior leader to join our Construction Industries team in the role of Heavy Construction Business Manager.

Reporting to the General Manager – Construction Industries, the Heavy Construction Business Manager is responsible for leading a team of sales managers and accounts managers and owning the market, product and sales strategy for heavy construction equipment.

This is a strategic leadership role with the successful applicant liaising with key internal stakeholders, major customers and Caterpillar representatives to ensure an exceptional customer experience and in turn deliver on WesTrac's business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of managers and align activity to strategic objectives through guidance, setting clear KPI's and coaching for high performance

Establish and deliver upon the 5-year forecast for heavy construction new equipment sales

Collaboration with WesTrac teams to ensure inventory and operational capacity can meet sales and market share forecasts

Regular Stakeholder engagement with Caterpillar to align on goals and initiatives to grow share and meet customer requirements

Commercial innovation to ensure the value proposition is realised for customers and that offerings meet customer expectations

Overseeing the response to tenders and commercial frameworks for national and global accounts

Skills & Experience

Sales leadership experience ideally within the construction, mining or earthmoving industry or similar

Advanced communication, negotiation, decision making and influencing skills

Excellent stakeholder engagements skills with the ability to negotiate and build relationships

Demonstrated experience in the development and effective execution of sales strategy

Well-developed business acumen and critical thinking skills

Commercial acumen with experience in managing budgets and creating forecasts

Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce or similar
