Thales is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our team.

As part of our squad, you will play a crucial role in providing Level 2 on-site IS/IT support for all IT systems within scope of our Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Your responsibilities will include assisting with desktop-related technical issues & supporting IT services, ensuring efficient operations.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Desktop Technician, you are accountable for:

  • Comply with and assist in the enforcement of Thales Security Policies and Procedures
  • Comply with all relevant company Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies, framework and work practices with the intent of preventing or minimising accidental exposures to self, colleagues, visitors and/or the environment and to ensure a safe work practises at all times.
  • Identify and troubleshoot system problems in order to improve performance and reliability

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a heavy customer focus position involving technical knowledge and supporting an organisations' products and services
  • Timemanagement skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable SLA for resolution
  • Strong proficiency with Windows desktop, server platform e.g
  • Active Directory, SOE & SCCM & Mobile technologies
  • The ability to "step up" and work with senior leaders, as well as ability to provide onsite support to our users
  • Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several workstreams and project rollouts efficiently
  • Proven critical thinking and experience troubleshooting across a range of systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in the resolution of software and hardware issues
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer hardware issues
  • Troubleshooting and Installing Windows Operating Systems
  • Ability to work in high volume fast paced environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Flexible and reliable
  • Eager to learn new skills
  • Good problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Good documentation skills
  • Display passion, high performance, and a strong willingness to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of User & VIP Support and familiarity with ITIL methodology.
