This role is part of a team within the Flight Operations department working closely with Qantas Pilots.

The role will be responsible for supporting and advising the Manager on day to day operational and people elements for Flight Crew in the Sydney Base.


In this role you will be responsible for supporting and coordinating the operation of a flight crew base to assist driving a high performing culture and an engaged workforce.

You will also be the key support to the Manager in ensuring an efficient operation with a continuous improvement philosophy.


Other aspects of the role will see you coordinating flight crew in relation to leave and attendance management, scheduling, grievance management, aircrew licensing, and award interpretation.

You will draw upon your wealth of knowledge and sound judgement to make effective decisions, often with limited or no consultation or escalation to the Manager.


Additionally, you will be accountable for generating reports; such as flight crew leave, as well as overseeing people safety, operational issues and the management of remuneration and scheduling matters.

You'll have

  • Relevant experience in the aviation industry
  • Previous experience in understanding of Industrial Awards and Agreements to investigate and solve flight crew related matters
  • Strong interpersonal skills to consult and liaise with key stakeholders
  • Attention to detail; high level of computer competency and proficiency in Microsoft Suite of products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with an ability to learn new technology quickly
  • Great organisational skills with the ability to work through a number of conflicting priorities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity exercising discretion and tact at all times
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Selfmotivation and the strive to excel in a fast paced team environment
