About the Role

Reporting to the Delivery Manager, this key position is situated at our pristine regional Thomson Dam site in the upper Gippsland area, within the Service Delivery Portfolio. As the Program Lead Delivery, you will be accountable for:

  • Overseeing and managing the Fire, Civil, and Natural Resource Management program in Melbourne Water's Catchments in the East (Thomson Dam & Tarago Reservoir), constantly monitoring, adjusting, and enhancing processes for optimal efficiency and value to the business.
  • Ensuring programs are completed within budget and in agreement with customers.
  • Prioritizing safety and well-being through proactive safety leadership, fostering a zero-harm culture, identifying and reducing hazards, and continuously improving.
  • Supervising the recruitment and management of project firefighters during the fire season.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's Licence as occasional travel is required for this role.
  • Contributing to promoting a culture of Health, Safety & Wellbeing.
  • Completion of a firefighter task-based assessment and emergency medical fitness evaluation are mandatory for this role.

About you:

  • Extensive experience in overseeing teams delivering Fire, Civil, and Natural Resource Management maintenance programs, including First Response Fire management.
  • Demonstrated ability in decision-making, problem-solving, and innovating operational solutions.
  • Proven track record of leading diverse, high-performance teams with an inclusive culture.
  • Capability to perform under pressure and in emergency scenarios.
  • Strong expertise in identifying, assessing, and controlling risks.
  • Must permanently reside within a 45-minute drive of the Work Centre – Thomson Dam (Ideal if located in Moe, Taralgon, or Morwell).
  • Availability for on-call shifts (24-hour recall to work) and emergency responses as needed.
  • Willingness to be part of a fire roster during the fire season.
  • Restriction on Annual Leave during the Summer fire period.

This role is primarily based at Thomson Dam, Thomson. You will be required to travel to sites East of Greater Melbourne. An operational work vehicle will be provided.
