Camden Council has a fantastic opportunity to get hands-on professional experience whilst completing your undergraduate qualification in town planning, economics, engineering, project management or another related discipline.

You will learn all aspects of this specialist field of Contributions Planning, on the ground, from the best


Our Contributions Planners have direct impacts on our community, by managing Contributions Plans and negotiating Voluntary Planning Agreements as well as Works in Kind Agreements.

Over the course of your cadetship, you will be mentored and trained in all aspects of contributions planning, developing your applied professional skills and getting a head start on your career

Essential:

  • Enrolled in the second or third year of an undergraduate degree in Town Planning, Project Management, Engineering, Economics or another related discipline.
  • Welldeveloped oral and written communicational skills.
  • Evidence of ability to research and interpret data (particularly financial data).
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Highly developed computer literacy and proficiency skills.
  • Ability to liaise with all levels of staff and clients, with a strong customer service focus.

Desirable:

  • General knowledge of Planning, Project Management or Economic practices.
  • Interest in, and ability to work in Contributions Planning.
  • Understanding of Local Government
  • To meet Council's WHS requirements and in accordance with Council's Covid19 Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment to be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID19 or provide evidence of an approved medical contraindication. If a medical contraindication certificate is provided, it will be assessed against a risk assessment and the decision of whether Council accepts the medical contraindication certificate, will be based on operational needs._
