An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Team Leader Development Assessment to provide effective leadership to the Development Assessment team and contribute to actively managing the growth of the LGA through effective development control.

Essential:

  • A tertiary qualification in town planning or a related discipline
  • Broad and specific understanding of Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979 and Local Government Act, 1993. Extensive experience in the assessment of complex Development Applications
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide innovative and practical solutions to resolve complex issues
  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • High level negotiation and dispute resolution skills
  • Experience in the management of Land and Environment Court matters

Desirable:

  • Experience in urban release area planning
  • To meet Council's WHS requirements and in accordance with Council's Covid19 Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment to be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID19 or provide evidence of an approved medical contraindication. If a medical contraindication certificate is provided, it will be assessed against a risk assessment and the decision of whether Council accepts the medical contraindication certificate, will be based on operational needs._
