Work with a bunch of passionate colleagues Role Details The Authorising Officer is a role within Inclusion, Supports and Safeguarding and is accountable to the Senior Authorising Officer for:

  • The provision of expert advice for protecting and promoting the rights of people with disability who may be subject to restrictive practices in South Australia
  • Supporting the education and training relating to the use of restrictive practices and promoting the reduction and, where possible, the elimination of the use of restrictive practices in the disability sector.
  • Contributing to the development and establishment of effective partnerships with stakeholders.
Special Conditions Special Conditions National Police Check required.

Role Status:
Term up to 04/04/2025.

Essential Qualifications:

Tertiary qualification and/or current professional membership/registration relevant to Human Services field (such as psychology, allied health science, social work or relevant disability studies) or a related discipline.

Our Restrictive Practices Unit supports the disability sector, clients and families by providing legislative oversight and establishing a state NDIS Restrictive Practice Authorisation Scheme to provide greater protection and safeguards for NDIS participants with behavioural support plans.
