Vice President of Research & Development (VP R&D) Position Overview:

We are seeking a Vice President of R&D who is not only an exceptional developer within the top 3% of their peers but also a visionary leader capable of steering our development initiatives. This role is perfect for someone who excels in both hands-on development and in leading a team, with a strong emphasis on innovative thinking and agile methodologies. The selection process will rigorously assess both technical acumen and the ability to inspire and manage a high-caliber team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly in coding and development projects, showcasing exceptional technical skills alongside managerial responsibilities.
  • Implement agile practices to effectively manage a team of at least four developers, ensuring projects are executed with agility and precision.
  • Demonstrate out-of-the-box thinking to solve complex problems, drive innovation, and lead the development of groundbreaking solutions.
  • Attract, mentor, and retain top talent by leveraging outstanding leadership and communication skills, creating an environment that fosters creativity and innovation.
  • Possess a profound understanding of cloud technologies, operating systems, and code optimization, contributing to the company's pioneering efforts in technology.
  • Navigate the company's growth trajectory from startup to scale-up with agility, showcasing an exceptional ability to adapt and flourish in dynamic environments.

Qualifications:

  • Recognized as a top-tier developer, ranking within the top 3% in the field, with a proven track record of innovative problem-solving.
  • Experienced in a scale-up startup environment, progressing from a developer role to a team leader position.- nice to have
  • Expert in agile project management, with a history of leading teams through successful iterative development cycles.
  • A strong technical foundation in cloud computing, operating systems, and code optimization, coupled with a creative approach to technology solutions.
  • Outstanding leadership and communication abilities, capable of not just leading a team but inspiring a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Experience in scaling teams within fast-growing companies, demonstrating a capacity for significant professional growth from an individual contributor to a leadership position.
