The Opporunity

We have a great permanent full-time position available for a strategically-minded, dynamic, and leadership-focused Director of Finance to join the executive team at The Avenue Private and Masada Private Hospitals. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Finance will oversee the financial management and performance of both hospitals. While there is support from an onsite finance assistant and an offsite Finance Service Center for transactional accounting functions, the responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of financials rests with this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wrap-up and analysis of results, identifying improvement opportunities and growth prospects
  • Creation of annual budgets and business strategies
  • Supervision of various non-clinical departments at the hospitals, including Business Office/Patient Administration, Consulting Suites, Finance, Supply, Health Information Services, Catering, and Environmental Services
  • Managing the financial aspects and implications of Capital Expenditure
  • Collaboration with corporate finance services for reporting and compliance matters
  • Engagement with clinical departments to educate and empower managers to understand, track, and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs)

About You

To excel in this role, you must have substantial commercial acumen, expertise in financial management, exceptional leadership abilities, and the skill to cultivate positive and professional relationships with both remote and onsite teams.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Qualifications in accounting/finance management, preferably CPA or CA
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational data, derive value-adding insights
  • Work collaboratively with the business to enhance performance
  • Demonstrated keen attention to detail, strong decision-making skills, and clear, concise communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel
  • Prior experience working with large accounting software packages and advanced budget preparation
  • Proven capability to collaborate with and assist key non-financial stakeholders

Desirable Skills

  • Background in financial management within the healthcare sector
  • Proficiency in financial legislation, compliance, and risk management frameworks relevant to healthcare environments

About the Hospitals

The Avenue Private Hospital is a state-of-the-art private facility offering 152 beds. Known for its excellence in orthopedic surgery, joint replacement, and sports injury care, it also boasts a renowned Bariatric (Obesity) surgical program. Featuring 11 operating rooms, a day surgery center, a High Dependency Unit, a Dermatology Centre, and advanced imaging services (MRI, CT, and Ultrasound), the hospital also provides Comprehensive Pathology, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, and Pre-Admission and Discharge Planning services.

Masada Private Hospital is a fully accredited 105-bed facility providing acute medical, surgical, dermatology, Early Parenting Centre, and rehabilitation services.
