The Role


The Aboriginal Cultural Consultant is a senior role and will have experience within the child protection sector, sound knowledge of social work theories, models and underpinning frameworks (including therapeutic interventions for Aboriginal families) an in-depth knowledge of cultural issues that impact on Aboriginal families, program innovation, and an ability to provide expert cultural advice to the team, whilst managing competing priorities.

This is a part-time opportunity, FTE.

The role will be part of the RESTORE Intensive Family Services south team, which provides trauma-responsive, culturally competent, and child-focused interventions to families with children.


What you need to bring

  • Extensive experience within the Aboriginal Community
  • Experience working with families involved in the Child Protection sector
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check.

Desirable

  • Social work degree or equivalent
  • Experience in working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in providing cultural advice for policies and procedures
